The longest-serving member of the five-person Federal Trade Commission is expressing exasperation over attacks from congressional Republicans that the agency is helping the European Union target U.S. tech companies with outsized regulation that adds billions of dollars in costs.
Speaking at an FTC event last week, Rebecca Kelly Slaughter slapped down allegations that the commission was “nefariously colluding” with EU officials to punish American companies.
