Former Stanford Law School Dean Paul Brest has stepped in to serve as interim dean of the law school after the previous interim dean needed to step down due to health issues.
On Monday, Jenny Martinez, who became provost of Stanford University in October—after serving as the Stanford Law dean for more than four years—announced that Brest, professor emeritus, will step in while the search for the school’s next permanent dean continues. His appointment as interim dean is effective immediately.
