Testimony from a Philadelphia police officer about where she slipped and fell inside a training center likely convinced a city jury to award her more than $2 million, according to an attorney in the case.

On Nov. 18, a Philadelphia jury handed up a $2,114,286 verdict for Joan Palmer, a 20-year veteran of the force, who claimed she has been unable to work after a severe fall on a wet floor. The award came after four days of trial in Judge Gwendolyn Bright’s courtroom.
