A Philadelphia judge has granted a charging order against Donald Haviland’s interest in his law firm Haviland Hughes, and ordered the former Kline & Specter attorney to explain to the court why he should not be held in contempt.

The orders, which Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Judge Nina Wright Padilla entered Tuesday, stem from Haviland’s alleged refusal to pay former Philadelphia Judge Mark Bernstein for his role serving as a neutral arbitrator in a fee dispute between Haviland and Kline & Specter.
