A woman who required a spinal fusion surgery following a rear-end crash with a box truck settled her Middlesex County case, Carrancho v. Premier Logistics Inc., for $900,000 following mediation on Aug. 22.

On Nov. 16, 2018, Sonia Carrancho was driving her Honda Pilot and was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Chestnut Street and St. Georges Avenue in Roselle. While waiting to merge into traffic on St. Georges Avenue, a box truck struck her from the rear. The truck was driven by Matias Obertoaraya and owned by Premier Logistics, according to James Pagliuca of Gill & Chamas in Woodbridge, counsel for Carrancho.
