Earlier this month, there was some big news shared at Pubcon in Las Vegas that is sure to shake up the way law firms see the internet as a business development tool. Google expert John Mueller announced that effective March 2021, Google will be rolling out their “mobile first” indexing which is sure to change the game of search engine optimization (SEO) and lead generation online.

What Is Mobile First Indexing?

Mobile first indexing is as it sounds, Google will be using the content present on the mobile website to identify where content belongs on its search engine results pages (SERP). By basing rank position on mobile first, Google will be changing the way they have looked at desktop websites for decades and show clear preference to mobile device user experience (UX).
