A New Jersey appeals court has ruled that an insurance carrier must provide coverage for a Newark firefighter who fell through a glass panel on a roof while responding to a fire.

The three-judge Appellate Division panel on May 2 overturned a lower court ruling and said the policy clearly was meant to cover the premises of the building—even though there was an agreement that the building’s owner would maintain the roof.
