The bribery conviction of a one-time upstate police officer has been unanimously upheld by an Appellate Division, Fourth Department, panel.

In People v. Hutchings, 12-01586, the judges said the evidence was legally sufficient to support the charge of third-degree bribe taking, Penal Law §200.10, which required Brian Hutchings to have accepted free or discounted goods or services from local companies upon the understanding that his “opinion, judgment, action, decision or exercise of discretion as a public servant” would be influenced.
