Twelve district attorneys’ offices will receive new or enhanced state funds to improve tax evasion and welfare fraud prosecutions.

The money comes from the Crimes Against Revenue Program, which allocates proceeds from tax revenues, fines and restitution generated in fraud cases to help local investigations and prosecutions. The program has produced about $160 million in revenues since its creation 10 years ago, according to Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office.
