• Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has added Jeffrey Jakubiak as of counsel focusing on energy regulatory and corporate matters. Jakubiak was practicing with Troutman Sanders.

• The Jacob Fuchsberg Law Firm has added Kelly Fitzpatrick as senior counsel. She will focus on mass torts and medical malpractice actions. She previously practiced at the Lanier Law Firm in its mass tort practice group.

• Rosenberg & Estis has added Michael Rosenblatt as of counsel with its administrative group. He will be advising clients on rent regulatory law compliance. Rosenblatt was an assistant commissioner and deputy counsel with the state of New York’s Division of Housing & Community Renewal, where he served as counsel to the Office of Rent Administration.

Steven Schoenfeld has joined DelBello Donnellan Weingarten Wise & Wiederkehr in White Plains as a litigation partner. He was a partner at Robinson & Cole.

• Harris Beach has added Brendan Kelleher as a partner in the firm’s Buffalo office and a member of the firm’s labor and employment law practice group and the educational institutions industry team. Kelleher was previously a partner at Hodgson Russ.

• Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle has added Shaya Rochester as a partner in the firm’s restructuring and insolvency practice group. Rochester was senior counsel at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.

Jacob Sherkow and Ari Ezra Waldman will join the intellectual property faculty of New York Law School as associate professors, effective July 2014. Sherkow is a fellow at Stanford Law School’s Center for Law and the Biosciences, concentrating on biotechnology and the law. Waldman will serve as director of NYLS’s Institute for Information Law and Policy (IILP), pursuing the work he began there while an adjunct.

Neal Schelberg, a Proskauer Rose partner, has been appointed chair of the U.S. Labor Department’s 2014 Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans (the ERISA Advisory Council) by Labor Secretary Thomas Perez. The 15-member council provides advice on policies and regulations affecting employee benefit plans governed by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA).

Vincent Doyle III, a partner with Connors & Vilardo in Buffalo and former president of the New York State Bar Association, was appointed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo as a member of the state Indigent Legal Services Board. Doyle was recommended by state Sen. Dean Skelos, R-Rockville Centre.
