An upstate New York judge has resigned from the bench shortly after he pleaded guilty to felony drug-dealing charges, the state’s judicial misconduct watchdog said Monday.

Mitchell Q. Soules Jr., a suspended judge of Little Falls Town Court in Herkimer County, pleaded guilty to criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree on April 17, and then resigned, the Commission on Judicial Conduct said. In doing so, Soules stipulated he would never seek or accept judicial office again.
