A “candid discussion” before a full house is expected when New York Chief Judge Rowan Wilson and retired Chief Judge Jonathan Lippman discuss the demands of the job during a symposium at Albany Law School, event moderator and professor Vincent Bonventre said on Tuesday.

Wilson has been the state’s top jurist since April 2023, and Lippman was the Court of Appeals’ chief judge from 2009 to 2015, and both men share the commonality that lawmakers tasked them with restoring the court’s national prominence, Bonventre said ahead of the program, scheduled for Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the law school.
