On Jan. 10, 2024, U.S. Attorney Damian Williams took an important step in providing a valuable incentive to individuals with information about certain crimes by announcing the SDNY Whistleblower Pilot Program. The policy is designed to encourage early, voluntary disclosure of criminal conduct by individual participants in non-violent offenses involving fraud and public corruption.

Under this program, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York (the “SDNY”) will offer the ultimate prize to qualifying individuals—it will agree not to prosecute them.
