U.S. District Judge Gregory Woods of the Southern District of New York on Monday allowed part of a lawsuit against Citibank to move ahead, ruling that the plaintiff bankruptcy trustee sufficiently pleaded that Citibank aided and abetted a fraud scheme.

The Chapter 7 trustee of the bankruptcy estate sued Citibank in June 2022, arguing that Citibank aided and abetted a $60 million fraud scheme perpetrated by Jason Nissen, the former CEO of a ticket resale company known as National Events of America. Nissen was arrested in 2017 and pleaded guilty in the SDNY in 2018.
