U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez, D-New Jersey, pleaded not guilty to a superseding indictment in Manhattan federal court Monday, days after his wife also pleaded not guilty to allegations that the duo conspired for Menendez to act as a foreign agent for Egypt.

Appearing alongside his attorney Richard Weber of Winston & Strawn, Menendez waived the reading of the indictment and replied “I have, Your Honor” as U.S. District Judge Sidney Stein of the Southern District of New York asked whether he had reviewed the document and discussed it with his attorneys.
