U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan of the Southern District of New York on Monday rejected a request from FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried’s attorneys to adjourn his trial, now in its third week, while Bankman-Fried obtains better access to the medication Adderall to help him focus.

“The bottom line is, I have no competent medical evidence that is short of months old,” Kaplan said. “What I have is lawyers who I’m sure, in good faith, believe what they’re saying, but the last I heard from a physician was dated Aug. 12 and not only is that true, but I don’t even have a medical opinion that he needs it now or what the effect of not taking it is. We’re going to proceed.”
