A new unit within the New York Office of Court Administration has been created to oversee and coordinate appointments of judges, judicial hearing officers and commissions under state courts.

The restructuring places Shane Tela as director of the Appointments Unit, while Jordan Dressler has been appointed special counsel for the Unified Court System’s Advisory Groups, Chief Administrative Judge Joseph A. Zayas and First Deputy Chief Administrative Judge Norman St. George said in a joint statement Tuesday.
