U.S. District Judge Richard Berman of the Southern District of New York on Tuesday sentenced former U.S. Rep. Steve Buyer to 22 months in prison for insider trading, six weeks after his original sentencing was adjourned mid-proceeding due to a potential conflicts issue.

Buyer, who represented Indiana in Congress as a Republican from 1993 to 2011, has been convicted of insider trading in connection with the 2020 merger of Sprint and T-Mobile and a separate insider trader scheme involving the consultant firms Navigant and Guidehouse.
