New York Chief Judge Rowan D. Wilson was sworn in Wednesday as the first Black judge to lead the 176-year-old Court of Appeals, the state’s apex court. The position also places Wilson as the top official of the statewide judicial system.
The historic significance was highlighted throughout Wilson’s standing-room-only ceremonial investiture Tuesday in Albany.
