A dozen New York bar associations called the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to strike race-conscious admissions in higher education a threat “to the pipeline of diverse candidates for the legal profession and, ultimately, for the judiciary.”

The 12 bar groups issued a joint statement on Wednesday highlighting the value of diversity in reaction to the conservative-led SCOTUS ruling on June 29 in Students for Fair Admissions v. President & Fellows of Harvard College, 143 S. Ct. 2141.
