In the wake of the U.S. Supreme Court rejecting affirmative action at colleges and universities, the New York State Bar Association has launched a task force led by a former U.S. Attorney General, a former Homeland Security Secretary and sitting state justices that aims to “develop strategies” to help “preserve diversity” on campuses and in workplaces.

The rapidly formed, “blue-ribbon” task force is co-chaired by three current partners at the prominent international firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison: Loretta Lynch, a former U.S. Attorney General in the Obama Administration, Jeh Johnson, a former Department of Homeland Security Secretary and Defense Department general counsel under Barack Obama, and Brad Karp, chairman of Paul, Weiss since 2008.
