Speaking about his latest indictment, the federal one—incredible, really, that we have reached a point where we have to identify which of our former president’s indictments he or we are discussing—Trump called it “the greatest witch-hunt in the history of our country” (except, of course, for the one two months earlier when he was indicted in Manhattan, or those just a few years earlier when he was twice impeached for high crimes and misdemeanors) and said that “[t]he Biden regime’s weaponization of our system of justice is straight out of the Stalinist Russia horror show.”

Within minutes of the announcement that Trump had been indicted by a federal grand jury in the District of Florida—basically for stealing some of the country’s most sensitive/classified documents and then taking multiple steps to obstruct the government’s investigation of that theft—the MAGA faithful in the House of Representatives, like a Greek chorus, dutifully repeated his talking points ad nauseam: Witch hunt! Weaponization!
