Observers of the New York Court of Appeals have noticed a split along ideological lines the first few months of its present composition.
But unlike in the U.S. Supreme Court, the divide has less to do with politics, as all seven New York high court judges were appointed by Democratic governors, and only Judge Michael Garcia is a Republican.
