Gruber Hurst Johansen Hail Shank (Dallas): Orrin Harrison III joins the firm as partner in the Dallas office and will focus on business litigation involving energy and utilities, securities, antitrust and corporate governance. Previously Harrison was a partner at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld.
Bradley Arant Boult Cummings (Birmingham): John Perry Jr. joins the health care practice as partner and will focus on advising and representing not-for-profit health systems, health care providers and physician prac­tices. Previously Perry was a partner at Edmunds & Williams.
Cozen O’Connor (Philadelphia): Gregory Tears joins the firm’s public and project finance practice as partner in the New York office and will focus on public finance transactions. Previously Tears was a partner at Michael Best & Friedrich.
Freeborn & Peters (Chicago): Edward Rice and Marina Saito join the firm’s intellectual property litigation practice as partners in the Chicago office. Both will focus on patent litigation. Previously Rice and Saito were partners at their own practice, Hopenfeld Singer Rice & Saito.
Greenberg Traurig: Wendy Li joins the firm’s corporate and securities and financial regulatory and compliance practices as partner in the New York office and will focus on banking and bank regulatory, securities, mergers and acquisitions and educational law. Previously Li was a partner at Patton Boggs.
Jackson Lewis: Lee Lastovich joins the firm as partner in the Minneapolis office and will focus on labor and employment litigation. Previously Lastovich was a partner at Felhaber Larson.
K&L Gates: Takahiro Hoshino and Takahiro Tsumagari join the firm as partners in the Tokyo office. Hoshino joins the commercial disputes practice and will focus on domestic and international labor law and commercial litigation. Tsumagari joins the real estate investment, development and finance practices and will focus on real estate and structured financings, cross-border antitrust cases and mergers and acquisitions. Previously Hoshino was founder and managing partner of Hoshino & Partners, and Tsumagari was a partner at Atsumi & Sakai.
Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy (New York): Mike Shah joins the firm’s tax practice as partner and will focus on executive compensation. Previously Shah was a partner at Jones Day.
Shearman & Sterling (New York): Christopher Forrester joins the firm’s corporate finance practice as partner in the Palo Alto office and will focus on corporate securities, mergers and acquisitions and governance. Previously Forrester was a partner at Morrison & Foerster.
Drinker Biddle & Reath (Philadelphia): Frederick Schoenbrodt II joins the private client group as counsel in the Florham Park and Princeton, N.J., offices and will focus on estate and tax planning and administration of trusts and estates. Previously he was a partner at Neff Aguilar.
Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn (Detroit): Tara Slone joins the employee benefits practice as partner and will focus employee benefit plan documents for tax-exempt and for-profit entities. Previously Slone was of counsel at Hall, Render, Killian, Heath & Lyman.
Jenner & Block (Chicago): Michael Scodro joins the appellate and U.S. Supreme Court practice as partner and will focus on litigation. Previously Scodro served as the Illinois solicitor general.
Levine Lee (New York): Jillian Berman joins as partner and will focus on white-collar investigations and litigation. Previously Berman served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York.
Michelman & Robinson (Encino, Calif.): Steven Howard and Victor Sapphire join the firm as partners. Howard joins the corporate and securities practice in the New York office and will focus on risk management, compliance and contract disputes. Sapphire joins the intellectual property practice in the Los Angeles office and will focus on trademark regulations, licensing agreements and Internet privacy. Previously Howard was a partner at CEVA Partners, and Sapphire was of counsel to Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg.
