Additionally, Maria Luisa Canovas joins the firm as partner in the New York office and will focus on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and energy transactions. King & Spalding (Atlanta): Michael Heafey joins the firm’s intellectual property practice as partner in the Redwood Shores, Calif., office and will focus on patent licensing and litigation and trade secrets litigation. Previously, Heafey was a partner at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.

Littler Mendelson (San Francisco): David Symes joins the firm as partner in the Portland, Ore., office and will focus on employment litigation. Previously, Symes was a partner at Ogletree, Deak­ins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart.

McGuireWoods: Asheesh Das joins the debt finance department as partner in the London office and will focus on financing in the transportation and energy industries. Previously, Das was a partner at Stephenson Harwood.

Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman: Peter Morgan joins the firm as partner in the New York office and will focus on structured finance and private-equity transactions. Previously, Morgan was a partner at Dentons.

Duane Morris (Philadelphia): John Ryan rejoins the firm as partner in the Philadelphia office and will focus on white-collar criminal defense and internal corporate investigations. Previously, Ryan was senior vice president and deputy general counsel at Aramark Corp.

Fisher & Phillips (Atlanta): Robert Kilgore joins the firm as of counsel to the San Antonio, Texas, office and will focus on labor and employment law. Previ­ously, Kilgore was a partner at Rosenthal Pauer­stein Sandoloski Agather.

Katten Muchin Rosenman: Michael McBride joins the real estate practice as partner in the New York office and will focus on real estate finance. Previously, McBride was head of the legal group at Strategic Asset Services of H/2 Capital Partners.

Miller Starr Regalia (Walnut Creek, Calif.): Bryan Wenter joins as partner in the Walnut Creek office and will focus on land use, environmental and municipal law. Previously, Wenter served as city attorney for Walnut Creek.
