Foley & Mansfield has added Seymour Mansfield as a partner in it Minneapolis office. 

Mansfield, who is not related to the namepartner of 130-attorney Foley & Mansfield, was at Mansfield Tanick & Cohen before joining the firm on October 1.

Mansfield’s work focuses on international business matters—specifically, China deals—and litigation. Mansfield previously was a legal aid lawyer in Illinois and Minnesota and served as executive director and president the Fund for the Legal Aid Society, Minnesota’s largest civil legal aid organization.

“Aside from all the corny jokes—we will ‘see more’ of Mansfield—the incredible joint energy and enthusiasm makes me wonder if it’s more than coincidence that the Mansfield name already happens to be on the door,” Mansfield, 67, said in a news release.

Foley & Mansfield’s practice areas include insurance defense, commercial litigation, business and employment law, and securities law and litigation. Besides Minneapolis, thefirm, founded in 1989, has offices in Chicago; Detroit; Los Angeles; Miami; New York; Oakland, Calif.; St. Louis; and Seattle.
