The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday reinstated Idaho’s law banning various types of gender-affirming care for trans youth over the dissents of the court’s liberal justices.

Without ruling on the merits of the law, the Supreme Court granted a request from Idaho’s attorney general seeking relief from a statewide court order blocking the state’s Vulnerable Child Protection Act—though it kept the order in place for the individual plaintiffs who had sued to block the law.
