The American Association for Justice at its annual convention Tuesday in Seattle swore in Kentucky trial lawyer Tad Thomas as its new president. Thomas, who joined the AAJ in 1999 as a law student, pledged to prioritize the plaintiffs bar association’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts as well as legal technology education for its members.

“The next thing is how to take the technological progress we made during COVID and continue that in this post-COVID world,” Thomas said in an interview with The National Law Journal. He believes that the plaintiffs bar is already “much more technologically savvy than the defense bar,” when it comes to embedding digital delivery methods with litigation strategy. His “passion for technology” will be a strong driver to delivering education on legal technology to AAJ members in a new, different way, he added.
