The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit on Friday narrowed the scope of a subpoena issued by a House committee seeking financial records from former President Donald Trump’s accounting firm, Mazars.

Chief Judge Sri Srinivasan and Judge Judith Rogers issued the decision, holding that heightened separation-of-powers concerns still exist even though Trump is no longer president. The judges also found the committee demonstrated it has a legitimate legislative purpose in seeking the records.
