Todd Kim, a former Reed Smith appellate partner in Washington who is now up for a leadership post at the U.S. Justice Department, revealed earning more than $525,000 from the law firm for his work advising a host of major U.S. companies and other clients, according to a financial statement he filed as part of the nomination process.

President Joe Biden nominated Kim, a Reed Smith partner since 2018, to lead the environment and natural resources division as assistant attorney general. Kim’s nomination is pending at the Senate Judiciary Committee. Kim joined the Biden administration in January as deputy general counsel to the U.S. Department of Energy for litigation, regulation and enforcement.
