Kevin Chambers, a leader in the Latham & Watkins litigation and trial practice in Washington, has joined the U.S. Justice Department as a top aide in the deputy attorney general’s office, becoming the latest top partner to leave the firm for the Biden administration, according to a person familiar with the move.

A former federal prosecutor in Washington, Chambers arrived at Latham in late 2014 and built up a white-collar defense practice focused on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, a federal anti-bribery law at the root of some of the Justice Department’s largest corporate settlements in recent years. His clients have included global retailers, public accounting firms, defense contractors and energy companies.
