It’s taken three years of litigation including stops at the PTO and the Federal Circuit, but Japanese social media company Gree Inc. has finally hit a payday against Finnish gaming colossus Supercell Oy.

A Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton team led by partner Steven Moore piloted Gree to an $8.5 million verdict in the Eastern District of Texas Friday. Jurors found that Supercell games such as Clash of Clans and Clash Royale infringed claims from five patents related to controlling video game content and operations.
