Legal research platform Casetext made waves earlier this year with the release of its AI legal assistant CoCounsel, the first tool to bring OpenAI’s GPT-4 large language model to the legal tech industry. To date, CoCounsel is not only being used by large law firms and in-house legal departments, it’s also being employed to help move the needle on access to justice.

On Thursday, Casetext celebrated its 10th anniversary. In discussing the journey of a company that calls itself “a 10-year overnight success,” co-founder and CEO Jake Heller told Legaltech News, “Honestly, the best thing I can say is to quote Jay-Z: ’The genius thing we did was never give up.’”
