While law firms and legal departments continue to adapt to the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic, alternative legal service providers (ALSPs) may be taking advantage of an opportunity to get top legal talent at a bargain. But can they hold onto it?

The answer likely won’t be entirely dependent upon dollars and cents. While many ALSP’s probably still aren’t in a position to compete directly with legal departments or law firms on pay, that gap might be beginning to close. It’s also possible that ALSP’s can offer a greater range of opportunities for attorneys looking to gain leadership experience.
