Plaintiff awarded $36,000 for neck and back injuries

On Dec. 12, 2012, a judge awarded $36,924 to a driver who claimed a lumbar herniation and a cervical herniation in a rear-ender with an ambulance. In 2008, Jeannie H. Yi was struck by an ambulance for Empathy EMS Inc. The defense did not dispute liability. Yi went to a doctor and eventually to a chiropractor and also medical specialists. She underwent about six weeks of chiropractic treatment and underwent epidural steroid injections. The plaintiff testified that she is still in severe pain and physically impaired, and she claimed to need unspecified surgery for her herniated disks.
