Beaumont lawyer Larry Simmons and his defendant client, Christus Hospital St. Mary, recently won a take-nothing defense verdict in a suit involving rare allegations.

“This is an atypical employment discrimination suit in which the plaintiff seeks to impose liability on her former employer based on intraracial discrimination. All persons who allegedly discriminated against plaintiff based on her race are — like plaintiff — African Americans,” the trial judge wrote in a March 10, 2010, order partially granting the defendant’s summary judgment motion.
