Jury awards man attacked by rival business owner
On March 9, a business owner who got in a scuffle with the owner of a rival business while they were at an industry event was awarded $10,000. In 2009, Justin Atkinson, the owner of a staffing agency, was at the Dallas event. Also in attendance were Brian Jackson and Ali Nakhaie, owners of competing staffing agencies. Atkinson claimed Jackson struck him repeatedly without provocation while Nakhaie was nearby. Jackson and Nakhaie claimed that Atkinson assaulted them and they acted in self-defense.
