In 2009, Miguel Lopez went through an intersection with a flashing yellow light when he was struck by Joann Hidalgo. The plaintiff did not seek medical attention until 16 days after the accident. He went to a chiropractor, complaining of sprains and strains in his neck and back. His past medical expenses amounted to about $5,000.
