On Aug. 24, the city of Fort Worth agreed to pay $120,000 to a man who claimed that a police officer slammed him into a wall while he was handcuffed. In 2008, Carey Hudson was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He claimed that Officer Collin Harris slammed his face into a wall at the police station. He also claimed that Harris prevented emergency room personnel from providing medical treatment. Hudson’s nose and eye orbit were fractured and a temporary dental bridge was broken. Hudson also sustained a concussion and facial lacerations. He didn’t receive medical treatment until several hours after he was able to post bail.
