Attorney Charles “Chip” Babcock says he was not surprised by a special master’s findings, released Jan. 20, that Texas Court of Criminal Appeals Presiding Judge Sharon Keller should not be removed from office or reprimanded.
Babcock, a Jackson Walker partner in Dallas and Houston, says his strategy in defending Keller against charges stemming from death-row inmate Michael Richard’s case was to focus attention on the Texas Defender Service (TDS) attorneys who represented Richard.
