The State Bar of Texas has announced that two lawyers have been placed on probation and two others have received public reprimands in separate actions. A Hays County lawyer was placed on probation for two years and was ordered to pay $1,477 in fees and expenses to the State Bar. A Harris County lawyer was ordered to pay fees of $565, in addition to being on probation for six months. The two lawyers who received reprimands are from Dallas County and Tarrant County.

• Rule 3.01: A lawyer shall not bring or defend a proceeding, or assert or controvert an issue therein, unless the lawyer reasonably believes that there is a basis for doing so that is not frivolous; and
