Like everyone else who follows securities litigation, we’ve been keeping tabs on the explosion of class action suits against U.S.-listed companies based in or linked to China. (New filings climbed from 23 in all of 2010 to 44 in the first six months of 2011 alone, according to a report this week from Advisen.) But as we’ve reported, the defendants are often shielded by geography and by the difficulty of enforcing U.S. judgments in China, creating serious obstacles for plaintiffs and their lawyers.
