In two recent cases of sexual misconduct by lawyers, the Disciplinary Board of the state Supreme Court issued suspensions of relatively mild length when more serious action was called for, some attorneys and observers say.

The Legal reported in July that a three-member panel of the board granted a joint petition in support of discipline on consent in which attorney David H. Knight admitted to trading legal work for sexual favors. He was subsequently issued a one-year suspension.
