Convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal has once again won a reprieve from his death sentence now that the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has reaffirmed its conclusion that the jury instructions and verdict form in his 1985 trial were potentially confusing.

The U.S. Supreme Court had vacated a prior 3rd Circuit decision that overturned Abu-Jamal’s death sentence and ordered the appellate court to study the case again in light of the high court’s decision in an Ohio case that raised similar issues.
