The former head of the state Commission on Public Integrity, Mitra Hormozi, has become a partner in Kirkland & Ellis, the firm announced yesterday. She will specialize in government investigations and defending those facing white-collar prosecutions, said Jeffrey C. Hammes, chair of Kirkland’s global management executive committee.

Ms. Hormozi, the former deputy chief of staff to then-attorney general Andrew M. Cuomo, was tapped as chair of the integrity panel earlier this year after Mr. Cuomo became governor (NYLJ, Jan. 19).
