September 30, 2008

The U.S. Senate confirmed 10 nominees to U.S. district court judgeships in seven states on Friday, leaving just 23 trial judge vacancies nationwide. There are 11 vacancies on federal appellate courts around the country, with nine nominees identified, but it is considered highly unlikely any seat will be filled with the presidential election so near.
