A former general counsel has found himself in the middle of some very messy litigation laid out in a front-page story in The New York Times on Tuesday.

The story was about the ongoing showdown between New York Attorney General (and soon to be governor) Andrew Cuomo and financier Steven Rattner over a so-called pay-to-play scandal.
