A partner who steers litigation for Toyota Motor Corp. has jumped from Alston & Bird to Skadden in Los Angeles.

Lisa Gilford, who served as co-chair of Alston & Bird's product liability group, joins Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom as a partner. Since 2009, she has served as lead defense counsel for Toyota in a range of class action and product liability suits against the carmaker over the alleged "unintended acceleration" of some of its vehicles. Gilford worked with lawyers at Skadden to defend Toyota.
