Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A. Shroff & Co. has hired a new partner for its corporate practice in New Delhi.
Nikhil Narayanan is joining the Indian law firm from the London office of White & Case, where he was senior associate.
Narayanan advises on cross-border mergers and acquisitions and equity capital markets transactions. In 2010, he was part of a White & Case team advising U.K.-based oil and gas company Afren Plc. on its $104 million acquisition of the Toronto-listed exploration company Black Marlin Energy Holdings Ltd.
Prior to his time with White & Case, Narayanan worked a two-year stint as an investment banker with Credit Suisse in London. He also previously worked as an associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.
Amarchand, India’s largest firm, has around 575 lawyers in nine offices.
