Former Delaware Deputy Attorney General Aaron Goldstein is the first person to serve as the Court of Chancery’s chief staff attorney, with the judiciary announcing he took over the role on Tuesday.

Goldstein, who has worked within the DOJ for nearly 20 years in total, began leading its civil division as state solicitor in 2015 and took over as the department’s chief deputy attorney general in early 2018, selected by former Attorney General Matt Denn to advise and represent various other segments of the Delaware government. He recently left the state solicitor position to serve as counsel for the Department of State.
